Code of Conduct

ACRL/NY Code of Conduct
Approved 11/25/2020

ACRL/NY strives to support an open exchange of ideas within a safe and respectful environment. We value your attendance at ACRL/NY conferences, meetings, and events, and are dedicated to providing a positive event experience for all participants. We want all ACRL/NY events to be welcoming, supportive, and comfortable for all participants.

Participation in discussions and activities online and in-person should be respectful at all times. All are expected to exercise tolerance of the perspectives and opinions of all present and use discretion with photographs, recordings, and sharing.

We do not tolerate harassment in any form. If a participant engages in harassing behavior, ACRL/NY may take any action it deems appropriate and to be to the benefit of the conference community, including warning the offender or expulsion from the event. Event organizers will assist those experiencing harassment in contacting local law enforcement, if it feels necessary to ensure that everybody feels safe for the duration of the event. If you are being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact an event organizer immediately or the ACRL/NY Chapter president at acrlnypresident@gmail.com. All reports will be handled in confidence.
